We have entered another New Year 2008, my warm wishes and my prayers to God to bless you all with an understanding heart of his will in your live and surely his goodness and his mercy will be with you all your days.

I always desire to receive great blessings of God every new day; in this New Year my soul longs to see the goodness of God in my life as well as in all your life. The Bible says “The Lord is my Shepherd”, we are going to dwell on this thought that the Lord put in my heart to share with you. He is the Good Shepherd will carry you all through this New Year 2008.

When I was young I used to go to my native Village called Eriodu every summer, a small village near Dindugal in Tamil Nadu. My Uncle’s family had many sheep’s and I have seen my own Aunt being a shepherdess takes care of her small flock all through the day with great care and compassion as raising her own children.

God relates his children to sheep and has promised if we follow the voice of him he will lead through us in these last days where the natural love and faith is fading away from the society.

Jesus said I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep” – John 10:11

Different kinds of sheep are in this world:

1.      Sheep that Obeys: This sheep says the Lord is my Shepherd and believes that he will lead me in good pastures. If you believe you are one of this sheep, Stay there you will see the goodness of God all through your life.

“The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not be in want. He makes me lie down in green pastures; he leads me beside quiet waters” – Psalms 23:1, 2

2.      Rebellious Sheep: This sheep always want to walk on its own, always says “My way is high Way”. This sheep is not in God’s fold. If you are this sheep, Please ask God forgiveness and he will lead you in his goodness. The bible tells about this sheep.

“There is a way that seems right to a man, but in the end it leads to death” – Proverbs 14:2

I was once a rebellious sheep, God made me understand that I am a complete sinner, leading my life as it pleases my heart, but surely I was acting before the whole world fooling myself and people around me. When I heard that I have hope. I repented from living my life on my own understanding. Trusting my life to my Lord Jesus Christ. It has been 10 years when I made this decision. Year by year he is changing my life to be more fruitful and revealing his power in my life, sending me precious people in to my life to share the Joy he gave me

.

I a sinner need to have the Judgment and punishment for my sins, But the Judge himself took it on himself in the cross to offer ever lasting life for me, because he is “The Good Shepherd”. This is what God promises for the sheep that repents from sin and accepts his grace of forgiveness.

Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.” Psalms 23:6

What it really means to dwell in the house of Lord for ever, it actually means that his children will live for ever in his presence. Jesus before leaving this world said that I am going to heaven and prepare a place for you.

He is not a thief so he will not force his way in to our heart. He has said:

Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with him, and he with me.” – Revelations 3:20

Will you open your Heart?

Prayer:

Loving Heavenly Father,

Thank you for sending your son Jesus as a Good Shepherd to pay for my sins in the cross and raising him again. From today be my shepherd and guide me in your ways. In the name of Jesus I Pray.

Amen.
