Power of Forgiveness

One of the biggest questions most people have in their relationship with God is about prayers, which are not answered. There are a number of reasons why our prayers are not answered but Unforgiving heart is one of the prime reasons given by the Word of God.
I talked with my heart to forgive people for their mistakes against me like below
“Oh my heart how long will you refuse to release them;
You have kept many prisoners over the years
Some have been in your lockup for life
How long will you rewind; come on let us move forward
I know you are wounded by them
Some by their words some by their deeds
But don’t you want to be healed by your Saviour
He cannot forgive you until you forgive others.
Enough listen to me,
Wounded people can only hurt others
But, healed hearts are used by our God to heal many
Let the healing process start today
Mark 11:25: “And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive him, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins”
What did Jesus say About Prayer and Forgiveness?
1. The Lord’s Prayer: When Jesus taught his disciples how to pray he asked to pray like this. “Forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors” Mathews 6:12
2. If you Forgive Others God will forgive you
“For if you forgive men when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive men their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.” – Matthew 6:14
3. The Parable of Unforgiving ServantMatthew 18:23-35
The story goes like this; there was a business tycoon who gave 3 billion dollars as loan to a small trader, after some time the tycoon sends messengers to get back his money, after a long wait this small trader came to the businessman and pleaded for mercy because he cannot repay his loan. This businessman graciously forgave the loan and let him go (God’s love). After few days this small trader gave 1000$ as loan to one of his customer, after long wait the trader called his customer and asked his money back. His customer pleaded for mercy but the small trader refused and kept him in to his custody and never let him go.
In the similar way God is gracious enough to forgive all our sins but we refuse to forgive others. Yes it is a hard to forgive especially when they don’t even ask forgiveness for their mistakes. I have experienced the pain of people who falsely accused me for things I have not done, thank God he graciously helped me to forgive them.
I always wondered how quickly I forgave myself for my mistakes, because it is our tendency to judge others and us with two different scales. It is a proven fact that scientists have found that most chronic diseases (diseases that are long-lasting or recurrent) are the results of unforgiveness. Forgive and Live Free…
The Bible says, It is to his glory to overlook an offense
Prayer: Heavenly father help me to walk my daily life in forgives and love and please you with all my heart. I release all the people who have sinned against me unconditionally. Forgive and clean my sins with the precious blood of Jesus. I ask this in your son’s name.
Amen
