When you are Misunderstood…

One of the most painful thing in life is being hurt by people whom you love and trust and who are close to your heart. Because you have given them maximum access to your life and heart. To be frank you are fully exposed to their words, which has great influence positively or negatively. Especially when you are misunderstood by your own family and friends. I spent some time in meditating on how our master and Lord faced such a situation.
Have you been under situations
Where your true Love has been Questioned?
Where your motives were scrutinized?
Where you were misunderstood?
Where you do not have ability to explain your heart?
When Jesus walked on this earth 2000 years ago, He was totally misunderstood by his own people, his parents, his own brothers. Let us see what his brothers said about Jesus.
“But when the Jewish Feast of Tabernacles was near, Jesus’ brothers said to him, “You ought to leave here and go to Judea, so that your disciples may see the miracles you do. No one who wants to become a public figure acts in secret. Since you are doing these things, show yourself to the world.” For even his own brothers did not believe in him.” – John 7:2-5
Can you imagine his own brothers thought he is doing miracles to get name and fame, Because he was completely misunderstood. These words comforted me a lot, because we are not alone. Many times we think that God is sitting in heaven and commanding us not to this and that, it is not true, See Our master and our Lord the eternal Son of God walked in this earth in the same way you and I and was misunderstood by his own brothers like we face in the journey of our Life. But he set a model life for us to follow.
My beloved, Never allow your Love to be quenched by others words and actions, Because God is the one who judges our heart. You can never make every one understood your motives , if you try it your whole life will be spent dealing with building and protecting your image, Rather trust God and walk a life of integrity. I am greatly encouraged because Jesus said
“Remember the words I spoke to you: ‘No servant is greater than his master’. If they persecuted me, they will persecute you also. If they obeyed my teaching, they will obey yours also. ” John 15:20
Prayer: Lord help me to walk in your foot steps, let me focus on you, I humble myself as a servant, guide me in your counsel and lead me in the paths of righteousness in all circumstances, Lord also help me to not hurt any one knowingly or unknowingly.
In Master’s footsteps…
Sam
